Please note the dates and locations below.  Cross-country races are held in all sorts of weather conditions -- assume the races will be held unless you see something posted here to the contrary.

Please leave the pets at home.  Bringing dogs to the park -- in addition to being a violation of the City of Edmonton Parkland Bylaw is a bad idea due to the large crowds and loud noises that occur at cross-country meets.

How to Line Up on the Start Line:  Each school must line up in a single column, NOT sprawled across the start line.  (Refer to World Athletics Technical Rule 56.6 ("...the members of each team to be lined up behind each other at the start of the race...."), which allows a fair start to all teams in the race.)  Recommend the fastest athlete be in front, slowest athlete in back.  Picture to help explain:

If the air quality health index is seven or higher, Edmonton Harriers will follow the Athletics Alberta guidelines (which are based on recommendations from Alberta Health):   That day's races will be cancelled and organizers will seek feedback from the Edmonton school boards regarding whether the preference was an alternate date (if that can be accommodated by all other parties) or other options.  Volunteers will be in place at the event site to advise any schools or parents that did not receive the cancellation message if one comes.
